This session is an advanced course for individuals who will serve as T3TM trainers. This training is critical to the Department of Justice Office of Justice Program’s mission as it will provide training to improve officer safety and wellness. T3™ is the official training and technical assistance program offered through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) VALOR Officer Safety and Wellness Initiative. T3™ provides interactive, no-nonsense training that gives officers a set of proven tactical, social, and psychological tools for dealing safely and effectively with dynamic face-to-face interactions on the street. T3™ was developed by the same team that created and led the “Good Stranger” program, a major military initiative to improve service members’ ability to interact with strangers in high-risk, low-trust encounters. All T3™ instructors are experienced police or military veterans. These ToT sessions will be hosted by the local law enforcement agency and is offered to up to 24 individuals from law enforcement agencies in the region. The event to deliver training through the VALOR Initiative is a high priority for senior leaders at BJA.
